DURHAM, N.H. -- Sophomore Victoria Bach and freshman Sammy Davis each notched two goals to help lead the Boston University women's ice hockey team to a 6-2 win over New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon at the Whittemore Center.

BU improved to 19-11-2 overall and 16-4-2 in Hockey East. The weekend sweep of UNH (10-21-1, 7-15-0 WHEA) means that next weekend's home-and-home series against Northeastern will be for the second seed in the Hockey East playoffs that begin on Feb. 26. If the Terriers sweep the Huskies, they will finish second in the league.

The Terriers led 3-1 after two periods before the Wildcats made it 3-2 at the 5:41 mark of the final frame. Davis regained the two-goal advantage with 5:00 to play before she and junior Maddie Elia added empty-net goals to seal the result.

Sophomore Rebecca Leslie also lit the lamp while junior Sarah Steele supplied a pair of assists. Steele was one of eight different Terriers to record an assist. Elia and Bach both had one in addition to their goal and seniors Jordan Juron, Sarah Lefort, Kayla Tutino, Alexis Woloschuk and Rebecca Russo all had a helper apiece. Sophomore Erin O'Neil made 29 saves between the pipes.

After a scoreless opening 20 minutes, Bach gave BU a 1-0 lead at the 7:24 mark of the second stanza. At the end of a penalty to Bach, Steele and Juron combined to get the puck out of the defensive zone. Bach hopped out of the box and gathered the puck before dangling through the UNH defense and sliding a backhander past Vilma Vaattovaara.

UNH tied the game at the 9:02 mark, but Bach answered just 47 seconds later to make it 2-1. Tutino went hard off the boards for Lefort, who skated up the right wing and into the UNH zone. She sent a pass to Bach on the left side, and the sophomore finished the play to regain the Terrier lead.

The Terriers extended their lead to 3-1 with 1:04 to play in the frame. Leslie and Elia combined for a nifty give-and-go that finished with Leslie's 11th goal of the season.

Amy Schlagel cut the Terrier lead to just one at 3-2 early in the third period with a power-play strike and the score remained that way until the 15:00 mark when Davis redirected a Steele shot.

BU will celebrate Senior Night on Friday at Walter Brown Arena before its tilt with Northeastern scheduled for 7 p.m.
