HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior Hester van der Laan scored with 4:42 left in regulation to erase a 1-0 deficit and send the game into overtime.
  • After two scoreless overtimes, Lafayette's Aliza Furneaux converted the final attempt of the shootout to hand the Leopards a 3-2 win in the shootout and a 2-1 victory in the game.
  • Junior Grace Boston and senior Taylor Blood gave the Terriers leads of 1-0 and 2-1 during the shootout.

  • Magadan gave Lafayette a 1-0 halftime lead with a goal in the 22nd minute as the senior dribbled in from the left side before opening the scoring.
  • Off one of the Terriers' six second-half corners, van der Laan had a shot from the top of the circle saved but jumped on the ball and created space on the right side before drilling a shot to the boards for her fourth goal of the season.
