GOAL-BY-GOAL

  • It looked as if the teams were going to skate to a scoreless opening period, but Kelley broke the deadlock with 22.8 seconds to play. Graduate student Mary Parker's relentless forecheck forced an errant UConn pass behind the Huskies' cage. Parker pounced on the loose puck and quickly found Kelley driving to the front of the net. Kelley fired home a one-timer for her second goal of the season.
  • UConn nearly tied the game at the end of the second stanza, but after video review, the puck crossed the goal line after the clock struck zero and the Terriers remained in the lead.
  • The Huskies did get that equalizer 6:58 into the third, then with 7:06 remaining in regulation, Catherine Crawley collected a loose puck after a scrum at the BU crease and gave UConn a 2-1 lead.

GAME NOTES

  • Parker now leads BU with 27 points after her 10th assist of the season.
  • Senior goaltender Victoria Hanson made 22 saves for the Terriers.
  • Both teams were whistled for just one penalty apiece, with neither team converting on their lone power-play opportunity.
  • The Terriers outshot the Huskies, 29-24.
