BOSTON – After sweeping through doubles, the Boston University women's tennis team claimed three points in singles action to win the home opener against Rhode Island, 4-3, on Thursday afternoon at the Track & Tennis Center.

MATCH NOTES
- The Terriers won the doubles point by a combined score of 18-10 with senior Madison Craft and freshman Lily O'Fagan posting a 6-2 win at the No. 3 slot.
- Senior Barbara Rodriguez and sophomore Sabrina Faybyshev claimed a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, while sophomore Remi Ramos and junior Iryna Kostirko earned an identical score at No. 2.
- Ramos cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles and Craft only dropped six games in her 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4.
- URI tried to mount a rally with the help of Kostirko retiring at No. 1 singles.
- Freshman Clara Falxa clinched the team victory in a dominating 6-2, 6-0 victory in the No. 6 slot.
- The Rams added two more points at No. 2 and 5, respectively, with a three-set come-from-behind win over Faybyshev (1-6, 6-4, 6-4) and 6-4, 6-4 victory against O'Fagan.

- The Terriers will conclude the two-match homestand on Sunday (Jan. 29) against former America East foe Binghamton at 10 a.m.
