The No. 18 Boston University men's ice hockey team starts a stretch of four straight games on the road Friday (Nov. 17) when it takes on Maine at Alfond Arena. The contest will be televised on Fox College Sports Pacific and will start at 7:30 p.m.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday (Nov. 18) in Portland, Maine, at Cross Insurance Arena.

BU has won six straight meetings with Maine, sweeping its Hockey East series with Maine in each of the past three seasons.

The Terriers and Black Bears have played 127 times since first meeting in the 1923-24 season, and BU holds a 64-50-13 edge (.555), including a 24-8-5 advantage since the beginning of the 2005-06 season. BU is 25-23-7 (.518) in the 55 meetings that have taken place at Alfond Arena.

BU swept a home-and-home series with Maine last season on Jan. 20-21. In the opener at Agganis, the Terriers overcame a first-period goal by the Black Bears by getting a goal from all three forwards on their top line in a 4-1 win. The following night in Orono, BU scored once in each period en route to a 3-1 victory. Jake Oettinger picked up both wins in net, stopping 39 of the 41 shots he faced over the weekend.

Maine, which is playing for the first time in 13 days, most recently ended a three-game skid by earning a 6-2 win over UMass Lowell in the back end of a two-game series at the Tsongas Center on Nov. 3-4. The Black Bears started off the season with six straight home games, earning wins over both UConn and Miami during the stretch.

Three Black Bears are tied for the team lead in scoring and they are all underclassmen. Freshman Eduards Tralmarks has a team-best five goals to go along with two assists while sophomores Mitchell Fossier (4g, 3a) and Chase Pearson (7a) also have seven points each. Junior defenseman Rob Michel has added six points on two goals and four assists.

Freshman Jeremy Swayman and junior Rob McGovern have each earned four starts in goal and Swayman holds an edge in both save percentage (.908 - .891) and goals-against average (2.87 - 3.87).

The Terriers will look to build off a 4-0 shutout victory over then-No. 9/8 New Hampshire on Saturday at Agganis Arena. Redshirt sophomore Max Prawdzik stopped all 29 shots he faced in his first collegiate start and freshman Ty Amonte opened the scoring before sophomore Dante Fabbro and juniors Jordan Greenway and Bobo Carpenter all added goals. Carpenter's goal was his team-leading seventh of the season.

Prawdzik, who was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week, became the first BU netminder to record a shutout in his first collegiate start since Sean Fields against Merrimack on Nov. 4, 2000.

Freshman Brady Tkachuk leads the Terriers in assists (8) and plus-minus (+7) and is still searching for his first collegiate goal despite putting 39 shots on goal thus far in his rookie season.

Patrick Harper had a three-game point streak come to an end in Saturday's game versus the Wildcats but he continues to lead BU in points with 11 (5g, 6a) and now has 48 points (18g, 30a) in 50 career games.

Greenway has six points (1g, 5a) in four career games against the Black Bears while Carpenter has three goals and an assist in those four contests.
