Terriers Advance Past Loyola Maryland, 4-0, to PL Semifinals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The No. 2-seed Boston University women's tennis team opened its Patriot League title defense with a 4-0 sweep over No. 7 Loyola Maryland in the quarterfinals on Friday afternoon at Lehigh's Ulrich Courts.

MATCH NOTES
  • Terriers won doubles matches at No. 1 and 3 to grab the one-point advantage before quickly claiming three singles points in straight sets.
  • Sophomore Remi Ramos and senior Barbara Rodriguez posted a 6-0 win at line 1 in doubles, while senior Madison Craft and sophomore Sophia Kryloff claimed a 6-3 win at No. 3.
  • Ramos and Rodriguez then posted identical 6-1, 6-0 singles victories in the No. 2 and 3 slots, respectively.
  • 2016 PL Tournament MVP and sophomore Sabrina Faybyshev sealed the team win at line 4 with a 6-3, 6-2 win.
  • 2015 PL Tournament MVP and junior Iryna Kostirko owned a 7-5, 4-1 lead in the No. 1 match when it was halted.
