The Boston University women's ice hockey team will host its annual Skating Strides against Breast Cancer game on Saturday when the Terriers welcome Merrimack to Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m.
All ticket sales from Saturday's game will be donated to the Hockey East Skating Strides initiative. Fans can participate in the chuck-a-puck contest, which will also benefit the cause.
All BU students in attendance will be entered to win a pair of Men's Beanpot tickets for the Terriers' opening-round game on Monday, Feb. 5, against Harvard at TD Garden.
TERRIERS TERRIFIC ON THURSDAY NIGHT
- BU scored the final five goals of the contest, including three in the third period, to secure a 5-1 win at Merrimack on Thursday night.
- Senior Victoria Bach notched two goals and two assists for four points while sophomore Abby Cook collected a career-high four assists for the second time this season.
- Senior captain Rebecca Leslie scored a goal and assisted on freshman Jesse Compher's game-winner.
- Sophomore Natasza Tarnowski tallied a shorthanded marker in the third period.
- Senior Nina Rodgers also added an assist.
- Freshman Corinne Schroeder made 27 saves, including 11 in the third period.
- BU went 1-for-2 on the power play while holding Merrimack scoreless on its four power play chances.
HISTORY WITH THE WARRIORS
- The Terriers improved to 6-2-0 all-time against Merrimack with their win on Thursday.
- BU is 3-1-0 against the Warriors at home, including a 2-1-0 mark at Walter Brown Arena.
- The Terriers have never lost twice to Merrimack in a single season.
- BU has held Merrimack to a mere 1.50 goals per game at home.
THE MACK ATTACK IS BACK
- Prior to this series with BU, Merrimack split a weekend series at Maine.
- The Warriors took the final game of the weekend with a 4-2 win on Jan. 20.
- Junior Katelyn Rae notched four goals on Jan. 20, but the Terriers snapped her six-game goal streak and nine-game point streak on Thursday.
- She notched 15 points (13g, 2a) during her nine-game point streak.
- Rae has 23 points (18g, 5a) to lead Merrimack, with sophomore Mikyla Grant-Mentis (10g, 6a) the only other Warrior with at least 10 points.
- Junior Samantha Ridgewell has started 17 of the 19 games in which she has appeared, posting a 6-10-1 record with a .924 save percentage and a 2.31 goals-against average.

- Senior Victoria Bach became only the third player in program history to score 30 goals in a season when she reached that milestone on Thursday night.
- She joined Jenn Wakefield and Sarah Lefort in that prestigious club.
- Wakefield scored 32 goals in 2010-11 and Lefort notched 32 goals in 2013-14.
- Bach is now five goals away from 100 for her career, and her 51 points this season is a new career best.
- She is also just one goal behind the NCAA leader.
COMPHER COMES THROUGH AGAIN
- Freshman Jesse Compher collected her fourth goal in six games on Thursday at Merrimack thanks to her game-winner.
- Her power-play strike at 1:04 of the second stanza gave BU a 2-1 lead that it never surrendered.
- Compher has been on a roll over the last six games, recording a point in five of those tilts (4g, 3a), including one point in each of the last three games.
- She collected a goal and an assist in back-to-back games against top-10 opponents, recording two points against both Maine and Providence.
- Compher now has six goals and 14 assists for 20 points this season.
LESLIE KEEPS ON ROLLING
- Senior captain Rebecca Leslie is in the midst of a terrific stretch of games.
- Her 10-game point streak and nine-game multi-point streak ended on Jan. 12, but she has bounced back with three two-point efforts in her last four games.
- She has tallied 17 goals and 25 assists for 42 total points this year, with all 42 points coming in the last 20 games.
- Leslie is eighth in the NCAA in total assists and fifth in the nation with 1.04 assists per game.
- Leslie is just six assists from matching Marie-Philip Poulin's program record of 100 career assists at BU.
