BOSTON – Riding a two-game unbeaten streak, the Boston University men's soccer team will fly south to Patriot League preseason favorite Loyola Maryland on Friday with action slated to begin at 7 p.m.

With five conference games remaining, the Terriers and Greyhounds are currently tied for third in the standings at seven points (2-1-1) with American and Colgate looming behind at five points (1-1-2). Lehigh (12 pts., 4-0-0) and Bucknell (10 pts., 3-0-1) own the top two spots.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is hitting the road for just the second time in PL play following a 1-0 win at Holy Cross ... In the three contests at home, the Terriers claimed a 2-1 win against American and 0-0 draw against Lafayette while dropping a 2-1 overtime decision to Lehigh.
  • Overall, the Terriers are 1-2-2 on the road with ties against Boston College (3-3) and Dartmouth (2-2) and one-goal losses to both Harvard (2-1 OT) and Princeton (1-0).
  • Though he's missed the last seven games due to injury, junior Matt McDonnell still leads the PL with six goals and is currently fourth in points with 12.
  • Junior Satchel Cortet is second on the team at seven points (2g,3a) but missed the Lafayette game due to injury ... Both freshman Kari Petursson (2g,2a) and sophomore Austin D'Anna (2g,1a) have two goals apiece, while freshman John SIracuse owns the other goal.
  • Senior Mike Bernardi has started all four PL games at net and owns a 0.71 goals against average with a 0.786 save percentage.
  • Opponents are averaging 1.7 more shots per game than the Terriers and own a 46-37 advantage in corner kicks.
SCOUTING LOYOLA MARYLAND
  • The Greyhounds are an identical 2-1-1 in conference play and at home this season.
  • Loyola is 0-1-1 in home PL games with 0-0 draw against Colgate and 1-0 loss to Bucknell.
  • Team owns highlight wins against Rutgers (3-0) and St. John's (1-0).
  • Nine Greyhounds have found the back of the net this season with Brian Saramago totaling five goals and five assists for team-high 15 points.
  • Reigning PL Midfielder of the Week has eight points (3g,2a), while Gabriel Carlsson owns team-high three assists.
  • Owner of five shutouts this season, reigning PL Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Year Chase Vosvick has posted a 0.67 goals against average with a 0.774 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BU is 3-2-3 all-time against the Greyhounds with a 2-1-2 mark since both teams joined the PL in the summer of 2013.
  • Last year, Sharifi struck first for Loyola at 18:05 and was followed by Mickey Watson's goal at 19:34.
  • Junior Mana Chavali tried to mount a rally with a goal at 50:16, as the Terriers out-shot Loyola, 9-1, in the second half … Vosvick though only needed two saves to claim the 2-1 win against the Terriers.
  • Two years ago in Baltimore, Loyola jumped out to a 2-0 lead and owned a late 3-2 advantage before the Terriers escaped with a 3-3 draw … Saramago earned a hat trick to lead all players.
