The Boston University women's ice hockey team will travel to Providence, Rhode Island, on Tuesday night to face ECAC foe Brown. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
STAYING ON THE ROAD
- Tuesday's game is the second of three straight road games for the Terriers.
- In fact, four of their next five games will take place away from Walter Brown Arena.
ANOTHER BUSY STRETCH
- Tuesday's contest begins a stretch of three games in five days for the Terriers.
- After Tuesday, BU will face Boston College in a home-and-home series that starts Friday night in Chestnut Hill.
- This is the second time this month that BU has played three games in five days.
FIRST NON-LEAGUE GAME OF THE YEAR
- Tuesday will be the first non-conference game of the season for the Terriers.
- Their first 11 games had all been Hockey East contests.
- BU is the last league team to play a non-conference game this season.
HISTORY WITH BROWN
- Tuesday will be the sixth all-time meeting between BU and Brown.
- Last year's game at Walter Brown was the first time the schools had played one another since Jan. 2, 2011, when BU earned a 4-0 road victory.
- The Terriers are 2-1-2 all-time against the Bears, including a 1-0-1 record at Meehan Auditorium.
- BU bested Brown, 6-4, last year.
ABOUT LAST YEAR'S WIN OVER BROWN
- Brown scored two goals in 52 seconds to take a 4-3 lead at the 5:37 mark of the third period, but BU scored three straight goals of its own to pick up a 6-4 victory on Nov 28, 2017, at Walter Brown Arena.
- Jesse Compher tallied two goals.
- Abby Cook recorded four assists, all of which were the primary helper.
- Corinne Schroeder made 17 saves.
- The Terriers went 3-for-7 on the power play and outshot the Bears, 51-21.
BIT ABOUT BROWN
- Brown enters the weekend at 5-5-1, including a 2-5-1 mark in the ECAC.
- The Bears last played on Nov. 16 and 17, suffering a 9-1 home loss to No. 3 Clarkson and a 4-1 home defeat to No. 9 St. Lawrence.
- Junior Sena Hanson leads the team in goals (7) and points (10).
- Freshman Shay Maloney has a team-high seven assists and is tied for second in points (8) with classmate Lizzy Gross (5g, 3a).
- Junior goaltender Calla Isaac is 4-2-0 with a 3.32 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.
- Freshman goalie Hayley Kliczko (1-3-0) has started three of the last four games, posting a 3.57 GAA and a .902 save percentage in her five total games.
COMPHER COLLECTING POINTS
- Sophomore Jesse Compher leads BU with 11 assists and 18 points after she extended her point streak to eight games with two points on Tuesday at Boston College.
- It was her fourth straight multi-point effort, as Compher notched a goal and an assist against the Eagles.
- She has notched six goals and added 10 assists for 16 points over the last eight games.
- She has factored on 16 of the Terriers' last 19 goals (6g, 10a).
- Compher is a plus-13 this season, including a plus-10 rating over the last five tilts.
- The Northbrook, Illinois, native has recorded at least two points in six of the Terriers' 11 games this year.
MORE ON COMPHER'S RECENT RUN
- No other player in the NCAA has recorded more points than sophomore Jesse Compher over her last four games.
- She has turned in a nation-best four multi-point efforts since Nov. 9 and is one of just two players in the entire country (Kelly Pannek, Minnesota) to record a goal in four straight games.
- Compher has notched an NCAA-best 10 points over that span.
DAVIS DYNAMITE LATELY
- Redshirt junior tri-captain Sammy Davis has been outstanding over the last four games.
- She has notched eight points (3g, 5a) in that stretch, including two assists on Nov. 20 at Boston College.
- That streak began on Nov. 9 at UConn when she tallied two goals and one assist, including the unassisted game-winner just 47 seconds after UConn tied the game.
- That was Davis' first three-point game since Oct. 7, 2016.
- Davis then tallied three points (1g, 2a) over the weekend of Nov. 16-17 against Vermont, including a third-period goal on Nov. 17 that broke a 2-2 tie and nearly proved to be the winner.
- The tri-captain leads the Terriers with seven goals and is second on the squad with 13 points.
