BOSTON - The Boston University field hockey team returns to action on Sunday (March 21) when it heads south to Pennsylvania to face Lafayette. Game time at Rappolt Field is set for 1 p.m. and it will be streamed on ESPN+
The Terriers (1-0) will look to build off their season-opening 2-1 victory at Holy Cross that took place on March 7. After a bye week, BU will be facing a Lafayette squad that is 0-1 after falling to rival Lehigh, 1-0, in its opener last weekend
The Leopards was picked second in the Patriot League Preseason Poll and received two first-place votes. Senior Anna Steps was named the Preseason Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and was joined on the Preseason All-Patriot League Team by junior teammate Molly McAndrew. McAndrew had a team-best 20 points (9g, 2a) last season.
BU got goals from senior
Kathryn Scheerer and junior
Rebecca Janes in its triumph against the Crusaders two weeks ago. Janes assisted on Scheerer's goal and has a team-best three points
The Terriers are 6-2 all-time against Lafayette but dropped a 3-2 double-overtime contest to the Leopards at New Balance Field last season. BU had a 1-0 lead before giving up a pair of goals and then sending the game to overtime. Â
