HANOVER, N.H. – Wrapping up a weekend trip to New Hampshire, the Boston University women's tennis team claimed a 5-2 win over Brown on Sunday afternoon at Dartmouth's Boss Tennis Center.

The Terriers (1-2) captured five of the six singles points, including four in three sets, to defeat the Bears (1-3) after dropping a hard-fought doubles point.

Coming off Saturday's 6-1 win over UMass, the Bears jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning two of the three doubles matches by two games apiece. Senior Shelly Yaloz and sophomore Kaitlin Tan opened with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles, but Brown posted identical 7-5 victories in the No. 1 and 3 slots.

Brown added a second point with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the top singles slot, but that would be it for the rest of the day, as sophomore Victoria Carlsten keyed the Terrier comeback with a dominating 6-2, 6-0 win at line 4.

After exchanging 7-5 results through the first two sets of the No. 2 match, Tan cruised in the third for the 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 victory. Freshman Michelle Kleynerman had an identical score in her third set for a 6-2, 6-7, 6-1 victory at line 3.

Yaloz improved to a perfect 3-0 in the new year by rallying from a set down for the 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory at line 5. Freshman Sydney Sharman added the other point by also rallying from a set down in a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 win in the No. 6 slot.

The Terriers will next conclude their four-match road trip against the Ivy League with a short trek to rival Harvard on Saturday (Feb. 5) at 9:30 a.m.
