BOSTON – Riding a seven-game conference unbeaten streak, the Boston University men's soccer team will end the regular season at Holy Cross on Wednesday night with action set to begin at 6 p.m.
The Terriers are currently in second place in the Patriot League standings at 15 points and can finish anywhere from first to third. They need either a point against the Crusaders or a loss by current No. 3 Lafayette (12 pts.) at No. 1 Army (17 pts.) to clinch a top-two seed and quarterfinal bye.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU is 4-1-4 at home compared to the 2-3-2 road mark, collecting wins at then-No. 9 New Hampshire and defending PL champion Loyola Maryland.
- The Terriers are coming off back-to-back conference wins against Lehigh (2-0) and American (1-0). Their seven-game conference unbeaten streak is the team's longest since the 6-0-3 performance in 2014.
- A three-time PL Midfielder of the Week, senior Quinn Matulis leads BU with 12 points off four goals and four assists. Classmate Colin Innes also owns four goals, while junior Andrew Rent has four assists.
- Senior Griffin Roach has received the last three PL Defender of the Week awards, helping BU total eight shutouts this season. Opponents haven't socred with him on the field since Navy accomplished the feat back on Oct. 1.
- Senior and four-time PL Goalkeeper of the Week Francesco Montali has made 14 starts and ranks fifth nationally in save percentage at .846 while earning a 0.58 goals against average.
- Opponents have only attempted six more shots this season (162-156) with an 82-72 advantage in corners.
SCOUTING HOLY CROSS

- Holy Cross' other two ties came at American (0-0) and Lehigh (2-2).
- Evan Jones leads HC with five goals and 11 points, while Marcus Williams owns a team-high five assists.
- Josh Tubbs has started 13 games, posting a .618 save percentage and 2.19 goals against average with two shutouts.

SERIES HISTORY
- BU leads the all-time series, 14-4-1, after posting a 3-1 home victory to end the 2021 season.
- Last year, junior Eitan Rosen scored in the 23rd minute and was followed by goals from Matulis (49th) and sophomore Brian Hernandez (87th) before the Crusaders avoided the shutout in the 89th.
- The Crusaders won the last meeting in Worcester, 2-1.
UP NEXT
- No matter Wednesday's results, the Terriers will be hosting their next game.
- BU will next either host the No. 6 seed in the PL quarterfinals on Saturday (Nov. 5) or an opponent to be determined in the PL semifinals on Tuesday (Nov. 8).
