The Boston University women's ice hockey team closes out a run of 12 straight Hockey East games with a home-and-home weekend series with No. 12 UConn. The Terriers and Huskies will meet in Storrs on Friday (Nov. 18) before the teams face off at Walter Brown Arena on Saturday (Nov. 19).
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers are coming off a 4-3 overtime win at then-No. 13 Vermont to earn a weekend split in Burlington.
- Junior Lacey Martin had two goals, including the overtime winner, and an assist in the victory.
- After recording four points (1g, 3a) in Vermont, senior Julia Nearis ranks first on the Terriers in points (12) and goals (5) and is tied with Martin for the team lead in assists with seven.
- Nearis has at least one point in six of the past seven games with nine points (4g, 5a) during the stretch.
- Senior Nadia Mattivi (2g, 4), graduate student Jesse DeVito (1g, 5a) and freshman Sydney Healey (4g, 2a) have six points apiece.
- Freshman Clara Yuhn (3g, 2a), sophomore Christina Vote (1g, 4a) and Foulem (2g, 3a) all have five points on the year.
- Graduate student Andrea Brändli ranks 12th in the nation in save percentage (.939) and 16th in goals-against average (2.00).
- BU has eight power-play goals in its past seven games after having zero in its first five.
- Fifteen Terriers have recorded at least one assist this season.
- Twenty-two of Lacey Martin's 24 career points have come in her past 27 games.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- UConn has won five straight contests and posted a home-and-home sweep of then- No. 10 Providence last weekend after doing the same to Boston College the previous weekend.
- The Huskies are 6-2-1 at home thus far this season.
- UConn boasts a balanced scoring attack with 10 players having scored two or more goals.
- Senior Coryn Tormala has a team-best 11 points on five goals and six assists and junior Jada Habisch is right behind with 10 points, including a team-best six goals.
- Senior defender Claire Peterson (3g, 5a) and sophomore Riley Grimley (2g, 6a) have chipped in eight points apiece.
- Junior Tia Chan has started in goal for 14 of the Huskies' 16 games and sports a 1.55 goals-against average and a .944 save percentage.
BU-UCONN SERIES HISTORY
- BU is 29-15-8 all-time against the Huskies, including a 13-8-4 record at Freitas Ice Forum.
- In 2021-22, the Terriers took just two of nine points in their season series with the Huskies and had their season come to an end with a road loss to UConn in the Hockey East title game.
- Dating back to a victory over the Huskies in the 2010 Hockey East title game, BU is 26-6-5 against UConn.
