BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Boston University women's tennis team concluded its trip to the Sunshine State with a tightly-contested 5-2 loss at No. 70 Florida Atlantic on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls (10-6) rebounded from losing the doubles point by capturing five singles points with two of the matches requiring a third set against the Terriers (4-6).
Senior
Shelly Yaloz led BU by teaming with sophomore
Kaitlin Tan for a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles and then posting a 6-4, 6-4 victory at line 5 in singles play.
Sophomore VIctoria Carlsten and freshman
Michelle Kleynerman earned the other doubles victory with a 6-3 win at line 3. Carlsten won her first set in the top singles slot before former C-USA Freshman of the Year Martina Kudelova rallied for the 6-7, 7-5, 6-1 victory.
Junior
Erica Di Battista rallied from a set down at line 4 to force a third but ultimately came up just short to Greta Schieroni, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.
The Terriers will next return home and face Brown on Saturday, March 19, at 2 p.m.
