WEST POINT, N.Y. – Competing in a key Patriot League matchup that will help determine seeding for the conference tournament, the Boston University women's tennis team pulled out a 4-2 road win at Army on Sunday afternoon.

The Terriers (11-7, 4-0 PL) won the top two doubles matches for the first point and then captured three singles points, including two in three-set battles, to extend their win streak to six contests, as the Black Knights fell to 19-9 and 3-2 in conference play.

Both former Patriot League Rookies of the Year Kaitlin Tan (2021) and Shelly Yaloz (2019) went 2-0 on the day, as they first teamed for a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles and then claimed three-set singles victories. Tan rallied from a set down to defeat Caroline Vincent, 5-7, 6-1, 6-0 at line 2, while Yaloz held off Paola Bou for a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win in the No. 4 slot. 

In a matchup of two 2021 All-PL First Team honorees, Victoria Carlsten rolled to a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the top singles slot.

Graduate student Emily Kim and junior Erica Di Battista helped clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 win over the reigning PL Doubles Team of the Year, Vincent and Dolehide, at line 1. The Black Knights avenged the loss by defeating both Terriers at lines 3 and 6, respectively, in straight sets.

Freshman Sydney Sharma was in a third-set stalemate in the No. 5 slot when her match was halted.

In a rematch of the 2022 PL Championship final, the Terriers will conclude the regular season by facing 2021 runner-up Navy on Saturday (April 16) at Austin Prep in Reading, Massachusetts. Action will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the winner earning the top seed for the PL tournament.
