WINCHESTER, Mass. – No. 75 Boston University women's tennis (13-4, 2-0 PL) defeated Army West Point (18-8, 3-2 PL) in its return to Patriot League play on Saturday evening. BU picked up the doubles point and went on to win five singles matches in the victory.
 
Junior Victoria Carlsten and freshman Emily Zhao were quick to win in the No. 3 doubles spot, 6-2. They were followed by sophomore Michelle Kleynerman and grad student Shelly Yaloz who defeated their opponents 6-2 to clinch the doubles point.
 
In singles, Kleynerman continued to dominate with an efficient 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot. Junior Kaitlin Tan was next to finish for BU at the No. 4 spot, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. At the bottom of the lineup, Zhao sealed the deal for the Terriers with a 6-1, 6-4 win of her own to clinch the match at 4-0.
 
Play continued on the remaining courts with two additional Terriers picking up wins. Carlsten forced a tiebreaker set to win 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (5) and Yaloz won in straight sets 7-6, 6-4.
