BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Grad student
Shelly Yaloz of the Boston University women's tennis team was selected as the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league announced Friday. She was also named to the six-member Academic All-Patriot League Team.Â

Most recently, Yaloz earned First Team All-Patriot League distinction. She went 15-5 in dual match singles play and boasted a 5-0 PL record all at the No. 1 spot. Overall, she went 23-7 for her best record in a single season. The grad student notably upset the No. 65 player in the country earlier this year which led to one of her three PL Player of the Week nods.Â

In doubles, she finished the season with an overall record of 20-11 and a dual match record of 15-7. Her 3-0 PL record at the No. 2 spot helped set her up for success in the PL Tournament in which she helped clinch the doubles point in all three matches.Â

The Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-PL honors are the first of her career. Yaloz was also named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
