WINCHESTER, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team defeated Bryant in a 7-0 decision on Sunday. BU did not drop a single set in the win.
The Terriers were quick to secure the doubles point as sophomore
Emily Zhao and senior
Kaitlin Tan won at the top spot 6-1 to set the foundation. They were followed by sophomore
Michelle Kleynerman and freshman
Uma Bakaityte who won 6-3 at line two and junior
Nina Gulbransen and senior
Victoria Carlsten who won at line three, 6-3.
Carlsten picked up BU's first singles win at the No. 2 spot in a 6-2, 6-2 decision. She was followed by Bakaityte who, at line four, won 6-3, 6-3 to remain undefeated in singles. Tan clinched the match for BU with a 6-1, 6-3 win of her own at the No. 3 spot. Play continued on the remaining courts with all remaining Terriers winning in straight sets, resulting in BU's 7-0 victory.
BU returns to action on Friday when it faces Portland at 2 p.m. at the Weymouth Club.
