WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sophomore
Uma Bakaityte and freshman
Gabriella Mikaul wrapped up the Boston University women's tennis team's fall slate at the ITA Patriot League Masters Qualifier on Sunday.
Bakaityte advanced to the finals in the singles draw after winning matches against opponents from Colgate, Loyola and Army West Point. The finals match was decided in three sets, but Bakaityte came up just short and did not advance to the ITA Conference Masters.
Mikaul and Bakaityte also advanced to the finals in the doubles draw. The pair took down opponents from Bucknell and Army West Point, both in 6-3 decisions, to advance to the final against Navy. The Terriers played a close match but ultimately fell 6-4.
Mikaul also competed in the singles draw and advanced to the quarterfinals. She defeated her Lafayette foe to advance to that match but lost in three sets to Navy.
BU will be back in action in the spring for the regular season.
