Women's Tennis Outlasted by Brown, 5-2

MANCHESTER, Mass. - The Boston University women's tennis team fell to Brown in a 5-2 decision on Sunday. BU picked up a win on one doubles court and earned two singles wins in the loss.

In doubles, senior Victoria Carlsten and junior Nina Gulbransen won 6-1 in the No. 3 spot as the first doubles team to finish. Even with the win at line three, Brown ended up claiming the doubles point.

Continuing her winning ways from Saturday, freshman Uma Bakaityte logged BU's first point of the day with a win at the No. 4 spot. She topped her opponent 6-0, 6-2 to earn the win. She was closely followed by Carlsten who picked up BU's second point soonafter. The senior won 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot to tie the match at 2-2, but it would be BU's final point of the match before Brown went on to win 5-2.

The Terriers will return to action on Wednesday when they face UConn at the Winchester Tennis Club. First serve is set for noon.
