BOSTON – Hitting the road for the last time this regular season, the Boston University men's soccer team will head to Lafayette on Friday for a 7 p.m. start time.

Just two contests remain with the two-time reigning Patriot League regular season champion Terriers currently sitting in third in the standings at 12 points, four behind co-leaders American and Lehigh, with Bucknell (11), Army West Point (10), Lafayette (9) and Loyola Maryland (7) all within striking distance. Only six of the 10 programs will advance to the PL tournament with the top two seeds receiving an opening-round bye.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • After setting an NCAA record with 10 ties last season, BU currently remains the only PL team to have yet to record a draw this fall.
  • The Terriers are 4-4-0 on the road, including a 1-2 mark against conference opponents following a 2-1 loss at American on Oct. 19. BU previously recorded a 3-2 victory at then-No. 24 Bucknell after dropping a 1-0 decision at Army West Point.
  • Sophomore Pharis Petrica leads the Terriers with 13 points off three goals and seven assists, while senior Ethan Gill owns 11 points thanks to a team-high five goals alongside one assist.
  • During conference play, both men have totaled seven points with Petrica tallying a team-high three assists and Gill matching junior Andrea Di Blasio's three goals.
  • At net, seniors Ben Alexander and Sheraz Saadat have both started six games and have joined junior William Clavier in earning one shutout apiece. The trio has combined for a .712 save percentage and 1.50 goals against average.
  • BU is averaging 0.8 more shots per game (11.9-11.1) than opponents with both sides tied in corner kicks, 59-59.
SCOUTING LAFAYETTE
  • The Leopards are 3-2-2 at home compared to their 2-4-3 road record. They were on a seven-game unbeaten streak (3-0-4) until they fell to Army, 2-0, at Oaks Stadium last Saturday.
  • In league play at home, Lafayette previously posted a 1-0 victory against American and 0-0 draw with Colgate following a 2-0 loss to Bucknell.
  • Samir Dishnica leads the Leopards with eight points (3g,2a), three more than Riley Martin (2g,1a). During conference action, five different Leopards have scored one goal apiece.
  • Eric Axtman owns a .785 save percentage and 0.93 goals against average to help Lafayette claim seven shutouts.

SERIES HISTORY
  • The teams are tied, 5-5-3, in a series that dates back to 2013.
  • The Leopards own a 4-2-0 all-time record at home, while BU is 3-1-3 at Nickerson Field following last year's 1-1 draw.
  • In 2023, Lafayette claimed a 2-0 victory in Easton during the regular season, but the Terriers avenged the loss with a 1-0 home win in the PL title game.
  • Lafayette has won the last three meetings at home, including a 1-0 (OT) victory in 2021 and 2-1 decision in 2019.
