RANDALL'S ISLAND, N.Y. – The Boston University women's tennis team (6-7, 3-0 PL) remained undefeated in Patriot League play with a 5-2 win over Lehigh on Sunday at John McEnroe's Randall Island. After securing the doubles point, BU went on to win the first four singles matches before giving up any points to the Mountain Hawks.
 
Sophomore Uma Bakaityte and freshman Gabriella Mikaul were the first to win in doubles, securing a 6-1 win at the top of the lineup. Freshman Madison Liu and sophomore Blanka DeMicheli clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win at line two.
 
In singles, DeMicheli was the first to win her match with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 spot. Junior Emily Zhao finished next at line five, winning 6-2, 6-3. Fellow junior Rhea Rai clinched the victory for BU with a 6-2, 6-1 win at line six before the rest of the matches played out.
 
The last point in BU's favor came from Bakaityte at the top of the lineup. Her 6-3, 6-3 win secured BU's fifth and final point of the match. Lehigh won at lines three and two, respectively, bringing the final score to BU 5, Lehigh 2.
 
The Terriers will be back in action on Friday (March 28) with a match at UMass at 2 p.m.
