BOSTON - After helping the Terriers post their first two wins of the season, freshman forward Nick Bonino (Unionville, Conn.) has been named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Bonino tallied a combined three points in the two contests, including the game-winning goal in the victory over UMass Lowell.

Trailing 4-1 midway through the second period against UMass Lowell, the Terriers reeled off six straight goals, including Bonino's tally with 6:43 left in regulation to break a 4-4 tie. The freshman also assisted on BU's third marker of the night - classmate Colin Wilson's first career goal.

In Thursday's 5-2 win at Providence, Bonino assisted on goal by sophomore Eric Gryba that broke a 1-1 tie and gave BU a lead it would never relinquish.

Bonino is averaging a point per game and is tied for the team lead in both points (6) and assists (4).

The Terriers will return to action on Friday, Nov. 9, when they play host to Massachusetts. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
