Returning for a 14th year, GoTerriers.com will once again count down the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back Aug. 5 to find out the No. 1 team in this year's countdown.
Coming in at No. 2 in this year's Terrier Twelve is the women's rowing team, which claimed its first automatic NCAA berth in eight years after all three boats reached the podium at the Patriot League Championship.

Tiare Hicks, the second varsity eight boat defeated Navy by almost three seconds to earn its first-ever gold medal. Both the varsity eight and varsity four boats claimed silver in their respective races to help the Terriers finish atop the standings at 50 points ahead of the six-time defending champion Midshipmen (46 pts.) and Bucknell (48 pts.).
BU carried the momentum to the NCAA Championships where it placed 19th overall to finish ahead of three conference champions - Northeastern (CAA), Rhode Island (Atlantic 10) and Jacksonville (MAAC). The second varsity eight boat reached its first C Final since 2013, and the varsity eight boat ended the competition winning the D Final by seven seconds.
The Terriers started the 2021-22 season on a high note with six boats recording top-10 finishes amongst collegiate crews at the Head of the Charles Regatta with the the championship four boat placing second and fourth overall in its respective race. In the spring, they opened with a sweep over fellow PL rival MIT and added varsity eight boat victories against Boston College, Eastern Michigan, Northeastern and Rhode Island. In another noteworthy performance, BU headed south to the Lake Wheeler Invitational in North Carolina and placed seventh overall out of 16 crews, placing ahead of notable programs including UCF, Oklahoma, Kansas and North Carolina.

BU not only excelled on the water but also in the classroom with a 3.31 GPA for the spring semester. Eight Terriers were recognized with the CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award for maintaining cumulative GPAs above 3.50 while rowing in a minimum of 75% of the team's races. Mastrorilli, senior

Kylie Graves added the prestigious Scarlet Key Award, which is one of BU's highest academic honors that acknowledges the curricular and extracurricular achievements of the students who are nominated.
