Jack Ferreira was an All-American goalie for the Terriers in the mid-60s. A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Ferreira came to Boston University in 1963 from LaSalle Academy where he was an All-New England and All-State goalie.

After giving up 16 goals in 15 games as a freshman, the sophomore Ferreira was the starting goalie on Jack Kelley's second Terrier team — a team that was the foundation on eight straight winning seasons, including six Beanpot titles, an ECAC title and two NCAA Championships.

The Terriers finished 10-13 that year (seven losses by one goal) yet Ferreira was one of the bright spots giving hope for the future as he recorded a 2.8 goals-against average and three shutouts and was named to the All-New England team.

His junior year, the 5-foot-8, 155-pound Ferreira was named All-American as he helped Boston University to a 25-6 record. Ferreira, who was legally blind and nicknamed "Mr. Magoo" by his teammates, gave up just 2.0 goals a game and recorded eight shutouts, a school record that still stood at the time of his induction.

Among those whitewashing was an 8-0 blanking of Harvard, the first time the Crimson had been held scoreless in 105 games. Ferreira was also named All-New England that year.

The Terriers earned their first trip to the NCAA's in six years Ferreira's senior year and finished with a 27-8 record. Ferreira was named All-East and All-New England (for the third straight year) as he compiled a 2.8 goals-against average. Helping the Terriers to a Beanpot title that year, Ferreira recorded three more shutouts, raising his career total to 13.
